Accessory: Mechanical Fasteners

There are many types of insulation fasteners used in the insulation industry and all are available from GCI. Illustrated here is an assortment of the most commonly used ones. GCI also carries a full line of welding equipment and accessories.

WELD PINS

Weld pins greatly simplify the task of permanently fixing the insulation to most metal substrates used in the construction industry. The pins are fast and easy to install using conventional arc welding or capacitor discharge equipment. They are available in light steel , stainless steel. and aluminum.

SELF ADHESIVE ANCHORS

Self adhesive anchors are used to permanently attach insulation panels to nonporous and non weldable construction surfaces. S.A. anchors are quick and easy to install. Just remove the release paper, press the anchor in place and hang the insulation on the anchor and hold in place with a washer. This process eliminates the application and drying time of the adhesive.

SELF-LOCK WASHERS – ROUND AND SQUARE

Self-Locking Washers are used in conjunction with weldpins®, insul anchors and lacing anchors to fasten insulation in place. Simply press the self-locking washers onto the pin up against the insulation until the desired position is reached and then clip off, or bend over, the remaining portion of pin for a permanent attachment. The choice between round or square is purely aesthetic or personal preferences.
